Jakob Juhkam is a Tallinn-based composer and multi-instrumentalist. Originally from Häädemeeste, he studied composition at the Tallinn Music High School and the Estonian Music and Theatre Academy. His work is a blend of rock and jazz rhythms, minimalist soundscapes, and electronic textures.
Jakob’s professional career began as a sound designer at Theatre NO99. He has since composed and designed sound for over 40 productions. His international work includes collaborations with directors Tiit Ojasoo and Ene-Liis Semper at Hamburg Thalia Theater, Burgtheater in Vienna, and Luzerne City Theatre.
Beyond his work for the stage and screen, Jakob is an active performer and recording artist. He has been a keyboardist for groups such as Vaiko Eplik ja Eliit and Malcolm Lincoln. To date, he has released 12 albums, including three solo projects: T (2012), HH (2014), and the double album L (2022).
